I cannot connect my N-Tester BT to the Atfarm mobile app.

Please find detailed instructions on how to connect and measure with the N-Tester BT here.

When you prepare the N-Tester measurement in the Atfarm mobile app, you'll be asked to turn on your N-Tester BT and enable Bluetooth® wireless technology on your mobile device so that the Atfarm mobile app can pair with the N-Tester BT to receive the readings and calculate a recommendation from them. The pairing is indicated by a flashing blue LED on the N-Tester BT. If the pairing was successful, you'll receive a signal from the app and the blue LED will stay on.

If you can't pair your N-Tester BT with the Atfarm mobile app, it may be for one of the following reasons:

Mobile device displays Bluetooth® connection options

If your mobile device displays Bluetooth® wireless technology connection options after enabling the Bluetooth® wireless technology, then you may be trying to connect the N-Tester BT directly in the Bluetooth® wireless technology settings of your mobile device.

Please don't connect the N-Tester BT in these settings, as you may be used to from other devices. The N-Tester BT is paired directly with the Atfarm mobile app. The Atfarm mobile app will ask you to enable Bluetooth® wireless technology and will automatically establish a temporary connection in the background.

If the provided solution didn't solve the problem, please contact our support team and let us know the Android/iOS software version of your mobile device, the N-Tester BT serial number, and describe the problem and the steps you took to solve it.

Mobile device asks for PIN

Device search time too long / blue LED flashes continuously

If the device search takes a long time and the blue LED keeps flashing when you try to connect the N-Tester BT to the Atfarm mobile app, please try these solutions in order:

  1. In the Atfarm mobile app, go back to where you entered your field data and start the device search again.
  2. Turn off your mobile device's Bluetooth® wireless technology and turn it back on.
  3. Restart your mobile device.
  4. Uninstall the Atfarm mobile app and install it again.

If the pairing was successful, you'll receive a signal from the app and the blue LED will stay on.

Device does not turn on / LED flashes red

If the N-Tester BT doesn't turn on when you press the On/Off button, or if it turns off during use, the batteries may be inserted incorrectly or may be empty. A red flashing LED during initialization will indicate this.

Please try the following:

  1. Open the battery compartment of the N-Tester BT by removing the 4 screws with a PH1 screwdriver.

  2. Check that the batteries are inserted correctly. Bend the battery contacts slightly toward the batteries.

  3. If the last step didn't work, replace the batteries.
    • The N-Tester BT uses 2x AA (LR06) alkaline batteries (non-rechargeable).
    • Empty batteries must be removed and disposed of at a collection point. Batteries should never be disposed of with household waste.
  4. Close the battery cover.

  5. Restart the measurement in the Atfarm mobile app.

  6. Press the On/Off button to start the device. Don't turn on the device until prompted by the app. This is after you've entered the field data in the connection step.
