The soil analysis feature is available in the Atfarm web app in your desktop browser, not in the Atfarm mobile app on your mobile device.
You can add soil analysis values either by manually entering soil analysis values as described in this article, or by uploading lab analysis files.
Please note:
- Soil analyses can only be assigned to fields with crop types that are supported for creating a Nutrition Plan. Therefore, only add soil analyses for supported crop types. Find here the crops for which you can create Nutrition Plans.
Manually enter soil analysis values as follows:
1) Add soil data
Add the soil analysis values as follows:
- Log in to Atfarm from your desktop browser.
- Select the desired farm in the farm overview.
- Click Soil Analysis in the left navigation bar.
- The soil analysis overview will open, showing all the soil analyses within your farm.
- Click Add Soil Analysis.
- Select Manually enter soil analysis data from the options.
- If necessary, click the pen icon next to the analysis name and enter a new name in the input field. Then click Save to save your edits.
- Select the sample date from the date selector.
- If desired, enter more laboratory sample details and field details in the input fields of the corresponding sections.
- Enter values for the primary and secondary parameters in the input fields of the corresponding sections. Click the unit dropdown to select the unit.
- Enter as much as you know. If you leave fields blank, we'll use nutrient values from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) for the Nutrition Plan calculation.
- To save the analysis, at least 1 nutrient value must be entered for the primary or secondary parameters.
- Click the extraction method dropdown next to a parameter to select the extraction method.
- Click Save analysis to add the analysis.
- For assistance, please contact our support team.
- The analysis has been added to the soil analysis overview.
All added soil analyses can be found in the soil analysis overview, which can be accessed from the left navigation bar. Soil analyses added for a field can also be found on the field page under Soil Analysis. On the field page you'll also find the aggregated soil analysis summary for the field.
2) Assign analysis
Soil analyses must be assigned to a field so that they can be used to calculate the field's soil analysis summary, which can then be used for the calculation of a Nutrition Plan.
In the soil analysis overview, you can see which analyses have been assigned to which field and which ones haven't.
Proceed as follows to assign an analysis to a field:
- Click the three dots next to an analysis in the soil analysis overview.
- Select Reassign to field from the options.
- Select the field name from the dropdown.
- If a field isn't in the list, the crop type of that field isn't supported for creating a Nutrition Plan, or the field hasn't been assigned a crop type yet. Find here the crops for which you can create Nutrition Plans.
- Click Save to reassign the analysis to the selected field.
