Nutrient demand and supply

The total demand and supply of macro nutrients (kg/ha) and micro nutrients (g/ha) for the field is displayed in a chart.

The chart indicates whether there is a nutrient surplus or deficit from the products' nutrient supply compared to the optimum nutrient requirement for the whole crop cycle. If a nutrient's supply and demand are 0, that nutrient's demand isn't taken into account for quality or crop growth.

The nutrient demand values indicate the nutrient needs of the crop, taking into account the uptake required by the crop for the specified productivity and the nutrients available in the soil.

The nutrient supply values define the total nutrients supplied throughout the crop cycle, partly by mineral fertilizer supply (recommended products) and partly by organic fertilizer (if applied to the field). Hover over each nutrient bar to see the composition of the mineral and organic fertilizer supply with product names and quantities.

Soil analysis interpretation

The soil parameters used to calculate the Nutrition Plan can be viewed at the end of the Nutrition Plan and include:

  • Soil type
  • Level, value, unit, and extraction method for each soil parameter

If you didn't use your own soil analysis values to calculate the Nutrition Plan, we used optimal default soil nutrient values for your region to calculate the nutrient demand.

The nutrient interpretations are based on available soil analysis extraction methods and units to accurately classify the soil nutrients. Not all nutrients may be used or required to build a Nutrition Plan for a particular crop type. Yara's agronomists determine how nutrients are interpreted based on best practice. If a soil nutrient value can't be interpreted, because the extraction method is not yet supported, this will be noted in your field's soil analysis summary. These values won't be considered in the Nutrition Plan.

Change soil type

  1. Click the pen icon next to the soil type.
  2. Select a new soil type from the dropdown.
  3. Click Save to save your edits.
  4. The Nutrition Plan will be recalculated immediately.

Edit nutrient values

You can adjust the default soil parameters as described below. If you've used your own soil analysis values, these can't be edited in the Nutrition Plan as they're in the aggregated soil analysis summary. To update a value, you need to add a new record for the latest sample date.

  1. Click Edit nutrient values in the top right corner.
  2. Enter a value for the desired parameter in the corresponding input field. Click the unit dropdown to select the unit.
  3. Select the extraction method from the dropdown next to a parameter.
  4. Click the unit dropdown to select the unit.
  5. Click Save to save your edits.
  6. The Nutrition Plan will be recalculated immediately.
